The PCB expressed its appreciation for the clarity of the financial report presented (Documents UNAIDS/PCB(4)/97.6 and its Addendum), noting that it had been aligned with the Board’s recommendations to present separately overhead costs, programme delivery costs, and the cost of posts. It also noted that steps had been taken to establish an operating reserve, as requested by the PCB, and that further recommendations on procedures guiding its operations would be presented to the Board at the next regular annual session. The PCB noted the present size of the operating reserve at potentially US$ 38 million, representing two-thirds of annual expenditures, and requested the Secretariat with the PCB Working Group on Resource Mobilization to establish, as soon as possible, the basis for determining the appropriate level of the operating reserve.
