The Futures Institute, with support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID and the Johns Hopkins University/US Fund for UNICEF, has produced interactive web-based tools for analyzing the impact and cost of HIV interventions.
The three tools allow you to:
- project the future costs of ART for one person or for all low- and middle-income countries, allowing you to view costs over time and compare costs with available funding;
- project the number of new HIV infections by ‘risk group’ for 19 sub-Saharan African countries, calculate the impact and cost-effectiveness and show how scaling up prevention interventions can avert future infections; and
- search a database of over 200 published studies on the unit costs of HIV prevention interventions.
You can find the models at http://policytools.futuresinstitute.org/hiv-aids.html.
