The Global Coalition of Women on AIDS (GCWA) and Gestos organized on 7 April 2011, a meeting to brief civil society leaders on women and AIDS who were attending the next day the Civil Society Hearings at the United Nations General Assembly. The objective of the meeting was to strategize and direct attention towards women’s and girls’ issues related to HIV and to try to build a common discourse to be included in the Zero Draft document that will be adopted at the upcoming UN High Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS.
Two films were created out of the meeting’s discussions. They reflect important concerns raised by the participants, and records the process of a productive dialogue and political thoughts towards improving the AIDS responses and policies for women worldwide.
