The week of 6-10 June 2011 will be a busy time for the HIV/AIDS community. The June High Level Meeting will review countries’ progress in realizing the 2001 Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS and the 2006 Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS; it will be a moment for the reconfirmation of political will around HIV and universal access.
The official schedule consists of plenary meetings and thematic panel discussions.
Around the meeting itself, there are many side events organized by various UN agencies, Member States and civil society organizations. A provisional list can be found here on the UNAIDS website.
To help you organize your time in New York, UNAIDS has also created an interactive calendar and planner that includes all official and side events.
As always, if you cannot attend the meeting in person, you can watch it via webcast on the UN website.
