Thematic session: Food and nutrition security and HIV: how to ensure food and nutrition security are integral parts of HIV programming”
The 2010 Thematic Session Core Working Group on Food Security and HIV, composed of civil society, Member States and Cosponsors, met for the first time on September 20th, 2010. The meeting reviewed the mission of the working group members, the general guidelines for the process and the draft background paper. This core working group will be responsible for planning the thematic session including the introductory plenary session and the break-out group sessions.
As the thematic session will take place on the last day of the meeting, the working group discussed options on the format of the session which could help to stimulate attendance. The decision on the format of the thematic session will have an implication on the timing of the meeting and the number of break-out sessions planned. The UNAIDS Secretariat will formulate six proposals for break-out sessions and share them with the core working group for input the week of October 4th.
Watch this space for updated information from the core working group and ways to input. The core working group will meet bi-weekly up until the December board meeting. Please contact Sara Simon [email protected] with any questions.
