The 26th PCB Meeting thematic session was on “linking Sexual and Reproductive Health Services to HIV Interventions in Practice” and took place for a full day on the 22nd of June, 2010. The day opened with a panel of speakers including Lydia Mungherera, Africa NGO Delegate; Michel Sidibe, UNAIDS Executive Director; Ricky Swuanpyae(Speech)(Presentation) Ambassador Venetia Sebudandi, Permanent Representative of Rwanda to the UN Office and other International Organisations in Geneva (Speech); and Luisa Cabal, Center for Reproductive Rights (Presentation). Shortly after, the board members were invited to participate in two of the four breakout sessions (final rapporteur presentations listed below). The day closed with an interactive discussion facilitated by Kevin Osbourne, IPPF with the four rapporteurs of the breakout sessions as panellists. The presentations of each of the breakout sessions were compiled into one presentation, available here.
- Empowering young people through comprehensive sexuality education
- Models, Magic and Meaning: Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV Services (coming soon)
- Funding opportunities for integrating SRH and HIV services
- Gender based violence and HIV
There was one decision point that came out of this session which provides for follow up at the next PCB meeting (December 2010) by having a dedicated agenda item on linking sexual and reproductive health services to HIV interventions.
