Bangkok, May 1-2 2010
The UNAIDS PCB NGO Delegation will be convening a small meeting of activists on May 1st and 2nd in Bangkok in order to build greater trust and collaboration between constituencies of women, sexual minorities and people living with HIV and to develop a strategy for joint advocacy around the June board meeting of UNAIDS, the June MDG civil society hearings and the UN MDG Review in September.
Participants have been selected based on their affiliation with national or regional groups of one of the following constituencies: HIV, women’s rights, and gay rights and hold positions of leadership in their respective constituencies within their country / regions or international movements.
Andy Seale and Claudia Ahumada will be facilitating the meeting and have developed a background document in collaboration with the Delegation. This background document, which includes an overview of the two day meeting, may change as the meeting date nears and as planning progresses.
The NGO Delegation will share a report of the meeting in May in advance of the June PCB Meeting.
The meeting of activist’s is funded by the Open Society Institute (OSI) and hosted by The Coalition of Asia Pacific Regional Networks on HIV/AIDS (7 Sisters).
